The VULCAN Graphical User Interface (GUI) is written in Tcl/Tk. This graphics scripting language is free and available for a wide variety of platforms. The VULCAN GUI requires that version 8.2 or higher of Tcl/Tk from Tcl Developer Exchange, Inc. be installed on your machine.

The VULCAN-CFD desktop allows you to launch the following components of the CFD analysis processes:

Your grid generation software (e.g. Gridgen, ICEM, Tecplot, ...).

The vulcan input file creation gui.

The VULCAN CFD pre-processor, flow solver, and post-processor software.

Tecplot to plot the integrated loads and/or residual history.

Your flow solution display software (e.g. Fieldview, Tecplot, ...).

The VULCAN input file GUI allows you to create a VULCAN input file using a step by step process. Some of the input windows can be viewed by selecting from the following list:

The main window.

The gas thermodynamic curve fit type, chemical kinetics model,
and governing equation type selection window.

The reference gas chemical species and global chemical kinetics model selection window.

The domain decomposition and region/block configuration window.

The boundary condition specification window.

The ignition sub-block specification window.

The post-processor plot3d output window.
